Tori Huster

Team: Washington Spirit

Position: Midfield

Tori is one of the co-captains of the Washington Spirit, the NWSL 2021 Champions. She is one of the longest playing members of the league.

What makes Tori unique is her depth of excellent leadership. Currently, she’s the President of the Players Association for the NWSL. It’s an enormous and consequential job in a time of so much flux and change in women’s sports. Most recently, she’s been in charge of lobbying for, and convincing the league to adopt, the first ever collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for this league. In addition, Tori is a charismatic ambassador for St. Judes Children’s Hospital. She would be an excellent motivational speaker.

Tori has received numerous awards and honors as a player, including the ACC Women’s soccer scholar-athlete of the year in 2011, and a having been selected as a member of the U23 National team.

Tori's details:

Guilty pleasures: Raw cookie dough. The snooze button. Schitt’s Creek. Snuggling with Foster (her 10 year old Chesapeake Retriever.)

Detail-obsessed, often impatient, this team captain is one of the most confident, influential leaders in the league; on the field, a blazing red-headed blur, best to be avoided if you're not on her team. Off the field, she’s balanced and calm, meditating or writing. Obsessed with plants!

Passionate about mental health. Childhood Cancer. Creating a positive difference in the lives of others, helping them find their purpose, fills her cup right now.
